A dram with a story
Malt whisky and the Duke of Gordon
The hotel’s name has a special connection with Scotch whisky. In 1823, the Duke of Gordon helped bring about the Excise Act, making licensed whisky distilling commercially possible after generations of illicit production and smuggling.
One of the Duke’s tenants, George Smith, became the first person to receive a licence to produce malt whisky in 1824 and went on to establish The Glenlivet.
Today, we celebrate that history with a collection of more than 50 malt whiskies. Explore drams from Speyside, the Highlands, Lowlands, Islay and the Islands—from light and floral to rich, sherried and wonderfully smoky.
