The Duke of Gordon is licensed to hold Civil Ceremonies as well as Religious Marriage Ceremonies. There are two areas within the hotel where Civil Ceremonies can legally be performed – the Ruthven Ballroom and the Gynack Room. Although we are not able to perform Civil Ceremonies in the grounds it is possible to have a blessing outside following the service.
The Duke of Gordon has various function rooms which can accommodate different sizes of wedding reception. In combination these rooms can provide everything from the ceremony and the wedding breakfast to the dance floor and the bar. In addition to this we would be delighted to accommodate your guests (subject to availability). For larger groups a marquee can be hired for use on the croquet lawn.

The Ruthven Ballroom
The Ruthven Ballroom is the hotel’s main function room and one of the two licensed to hold Civil Ceremonies. There is a dance floor in the centre and a bar within the room. This room has the following capacity:
Theatre Style: 160 people
Caberet Style: 130 people
Dinner-Dance Style: 130 people
Dance Style: 160 people
The Conference Room
A more intimate option, the Conference Room is also licensed to hold Civil Ceremonies. Ideal for a small private ceremony before moving to the large Balmoral Restaurant or the small Garden Room for a wedding breakfast, the capacity of this room is:

The Balmoral Restaurant
A wedding breakfast in the exquisite Balmoral Restaurant would be a memory you and your guests would treasure for years to come. With its traditional plaster ceilings, and walls adorned with original paintings by J Peddie (painted on site between 1937 and 1938), the restaurant is truly beautiful. The capacity of the room is :

The Garden Room
An ideal venue for an intimate gathering following your wedding ceremony, this room overlooks the Memorial Gardens directly opposite the hotel and has a pleasant sunny aspect. The capacity of the room is:
